About this Work of Art ~
"Central
Park Bridle Path"
was created in 1965, and features a winter view of the bridle path
in historic Central Park. There is a lone horse person in the distance,
as if posing for Mr. Tar.
Of New York's hundreds of earlier stables, only
one remains operational today: Claremont Riding
Academy, established in 1892 as a public livery
stable and the oldest continuously operating
stable in the United States. Claremont is located
two blocks from the Park on West 89th Street.
There you can rent a horse, ride across Central
Park West and experience the Park from an entirely
new perspective.
Laszlo
Tar loved painting romantic winter scenes in Central
Park and 40+ years ago, he created wonderful and
