About this Work of Art ~
"The
Big Lake"
was created in 1991 by Laszlo Tar. The scene is The Lake in historic
Central Park, New York
City on a late Spring day. This spot is just west of the Bow
Bridge, with the famous San Remo building in view. The San Remo
is one of New York's last great apartment buildings of the pre-Depression
era. Mr. Tar loved painting in Central Park. He would go there
often alone to explore and find his spot of reflection. On this
day he captures the moment in this very fresh and painterly work.
A wonderful piece!
