About Our Limited Edition
Giclée
Prints
The
Giclée print has gained the admiration and respect of artists,
photographers, graphic designers, and perhaps most importantly, the
buying public. Used by the Louvre Museum in Paris to substitute original
works of art too fragile to exhibit, Giclée prints are known
in the art world by the French word "Giclée." Giclée
prints stand out because of their uncompromising fidelity and fineness
of detail and graduation. With an extraordinary high resolution, the
Giclée printer uses a continuous stream of minute pigment ink
droplets about the size of red blood cells to deposit the ink. Results
are virtually continuous tone prints with striking accuracy. When printed
on archival art papers and canvas, the Giclée print has the look
and feel of the original fine art (particularly watercolors), with a
lasting quality that exceeds 100 years, without any noticeable change
in color saturation or shift.
EDITION
SIZES
You will notice that our Giclée print edition sizes are very
low. We believe that limited edition prints should really be limited.
After all, the whole purpose of limiting the number is to enhance
collector value. All of our Giclée print editions are no
greater than 100, so that you will be assured of purchasing not
only something of beauty, but also a very unique work with extraordinary
collector value!
PROCESS
Images for our prints are derived from high quality 4x5 inch and 6x7cm
transparency photographs. We never use 35mm photographs for prints.
We produce these photographs in our own photo studio under strictly
controlled conditions. For inks, we use only the finest water-resistant
pigment inks. When mounted behind glass (or plastic), or stored in
a protective sleeve, these inks are rated at 100+ years prior to showing
any noticeable change in color saturation or quality (source:

Imaging Research). We produce Giclée print in our new print
studio. The production of each print is a joint effort by the artist,
and publisher. Each piece is extensively scrutinized to be a color
accurate reproduction of the original work of art.
PAPER
For paper, we use the finest art products. Giclée prints are
produced on either Somerset Velvet (120lb) - made in England, Arches
Aquarelle (140lb) - made in France and Elcipse (150lb)
- made in USA. These
papers are traditional mould-made, 100% acid-free cotton rag.
CANVAS
For canvas, we use a very fine product that is 20 mil. thick and 100% acid free.
It has a matt finish with a slight texture, inherent with fine canvas. This
product is made in USA.
QUALITY
The total production process and end-product is carefully scrutinized
by first the artist and then then the publishing staff. When the artist
is satisfied, the exact number of prints are produced, the print plates,
scans and film are destroyed and the artist pencil signs each piece
-- certifying both the quality and quantity of the print edition.
A personalized Certificate of Authenticity accompanies each
print. Finally, each print is individually packaged in a plastic sleeve
directly after signage, so that it is sealed and protected during
storage and shipment.
PRICING
Many visitors question how we are able to offer our prints at such
attractive prices. The answer is quite simple. We do all of
the work ourselves. From the website, to photography, to scanning,
printing, packaging and shipping -- there are no second parties
to pump up the price. This total control, also allows us to ensure
that what we produce and sell is authentic and of the highest quality.
