About this Work of Art ~
"Our
Spot"
was created in 1995, by Laszlo Tar. The scene is a typical canal
street in Venice, Italy. Laszlo Tar traveled to Venice in 1977
and again in 1995. His 1995 trip was accompanied by his youngest
son and this street was where they stayed for their brief 10 day
visit - in a small hotel, just a short walk from San Marc square.
While Mr. Tar was creating
this piece, his son was off on his own touring the local area.
He stopped to purchase a postcard to send back home to Mom. He
wrote
a short
note and mailed it off immediately. When Mr. Tar and his son returned
home to New York, they were reviewing his many new paintings
and to their surprise, the postcard that was sent to Mom was a
photograph of this exact street, which Mr. Tar had painted on the
same day. From that day on, this painting and this street, became
a very special connecting point for Mr. Tar and his son. A place
they would call, "Our Spot". Perfect for any lover of
Venice.
The print is an Offset Lithograph produced
on 100% Acid-Free smooth Patina paper. Only 190 signed and numbered
