About this Work of Art ~
"Scalzi" is
a fantastic painterly watercolor created by Laszlo
Tar in 1977. The scene is of the foot of the Scalzi bridge, from
across the Grand Canal, looking toward the rail station, with a
mass of gondolas, in historic Venice,
Italy. Laszlo Tar traveled to Venice in 1977 and again in 1995.
He loved the breathtaking architecture and wonderful pastel colors,
to say nothing of the romance of the endless canals. A unique and
moving work indeed! As with all of his works, Laszlo Tar completed
this fine piece on
location.
The print is a Giclée produced
on Eclipse
(150lb),
100% cotton rag paper using fine pigment inks. Just 90 signed and
numbered prints (and 10 Artist Proofs) exist of this
fantastic one-of-a-kind work of art!
