About this Work of Art ~
"Tower
House" is
a dramatic original watercolor painting, created by Laszlo
Tar, in 1989. The scene is at the Cold Spring Harbor dock, looking
west. The Tower House is a historic structure that has since lost
it's top section. The owner of the building removed the top portion
during a renovation project and never replaced it -- a move
that has caused some controversy and has changed this beautiful
view,
possibly
forever. Cold Spring Harbor is a historic village in Huntington,
New York
--
on Long
Island.
In
the distance,
on the
right, are some
of the
many buildings of the renoune Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and
straight ahead are romantic marine vessels, standing await in
the harbor.
Laszlo
Tar lived just a short distance from the spot depicted
in this
work, and his son would drive him to paint in this beautiful spot.
A truly priceless work of art! As with all of
his
works,
Laszlo
Tar completed this
fine piece
on
location.
The print is a Giclée produced
