About this Work of Art ~
"Rush
Hour"
was created in 1965, and depicts a New York City street view
from around 53rd street and 2nd Avenue, looking south. In the fore,
people and cars rush through the street and in the backdrop are
colorful brownstones and the Empire State and Grace buildings reaching
to sky. Mr. Tar loved
to paint throughout the streets and parks of New York City.
This very painterly piece demonstrates his ability and desire to
capture a moment
in
time with strokes that are full of life and truly expressiveness.
The
original is a watercolor and gouache painting on fine paper
and the print is an exact reproduction with marvelous details.
The print is a Giclée produced
on Eclipse (150lb),
100% cotton rag paper using fine pigment inks. Just 90 signed and
numbered prints (and 10 Artist Proofs) exist of this
beautiful work of art!
