About this Work of Art ~
"South
Ferry"
is a moving original watercolor created in 1965 by Laszlo Tar.
This classic painting captures a lower Manhattan view, from the
South Ferry terminal (where the Staten Island Ferry departs), with
colorful brownstones, skyscrapers and hustle of people and cars
during a
busy weekday.
Laszlo Tar
would
travel
throughout
New York City to paint and draw the many wonderful and contrasting
metropolitan scenes, and on this day he found this perfect spot.
As with all his work, he completed this piece on location.
